Legal document
Terms of Service
The rules that govern your use of CPL's website, Discord, and tournaments. Registering a team means you've agreed to these. Last updated June 2026.
User eligibility & account rules
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, to register with CPL. Players under 18 need permission from a parent or guardian to participate.
- •One player account per person. Undisclosed alternate accounts are a violation of both these Terms and the Rulebook.
- •You're responsible for keeping your Discord and platform credentials secure — activity under your account is treated as yours.
- •Information you provide at signup (gamer tags, platform IDs, contact details) must be accurate and kept up to date.
- •CPL may verify eligibility at any time, including age, platform account history, and regional restrictions.
Tournament participation rules
Participation in any CPL season, division, or match is governed by these Terms and the current Rulebook, which is incorporated here by reference. Where the two conflict on a legal matter (liability, eligibility, disputes), these Terms control.
- •Registering a team confirms every listed roster player has agreed to these Terms.
- •Team captains are responsible for their roster's conduct and for submitting accurate match results.
- •CPL sets and may adjust season structure, scheduling, and divisions at its discretion, with notice given via Discord.
- •Missing scheduled matches, incomplete rosters, or failure to report results can affect standings, as detailed in the Rulebook.
Payments, refunds, and entry fees
Some seasons or divisions may require an entry fee to register a team. Where a fee applies, it's stated clearly at the point of registration before you pay.
Before signups close
Entry fees are refundable if you withdraw before the registration window closes, minus any payment processing fees already incurred.
After signups close
Once signups close and conferences are generated, entry fees are non-refundable — your spot has already displaced a waitlisted team.
CPL may cancel a season or division for insufficient signups, in which case fees are refunded in full. Fee amounts, payment methods, and any promotional pricing are set per season and announced ahead of registration.
Prohibited conduct and cheating
The following are not tolerated on any CPL platform, in matches, or in connection with CPL activity:
- •Cheating, boosting, smurfing, or fielding an undisclosed alternate account
- •Match fixing, intentional forfeits for competitive advantage, or wager-related manipulation
- •Harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted abuse of players, staff, or casters
- •Impersonating CPL staff, another player, or another team
- •Circumventing or attempting to circumvent replay verification or the risk model described in the Rulebook
- •Exploiting bugs, the Discord bot, or the website in bad faith
Violations are handled under the enforcement process in the Rulebook and may result in penalties up to and including permanent removal from CPL.
Disputes and penalties
- •Match disputes are resolved against replay evidence (ballchasing.com links), not player testimony alone.
- •Open a ticket in the relevant match channel or via Discord support as soon as a dispute arises — late disputes may not be reviewable.
- •Admins may issue warnings, forfeits, standings adjustments, suspensions, or removal depending on severity, as outlined in the Rulebook's enforcement section.
- •Admin rulings are final unless overturned by league leadership.
Intellectual property
The CPL name, logo, branding, graphics, and website content are owned by Cross Progression League. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use them commercially without written permission.
Team names and logos you submit remain yours, but by registering you grant CPL a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display them on the website, standings, Discord, and broadcasts for league purposes.
CPL is an independent league and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Epic Games or Psyonix. Rocket League and related marks belong to their respective owners.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
CPL services are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uninterrupted access to the website, Discord, or match infrastructure.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CPL and its staff aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your participation — including lost winnings, scheduling conflicts, or connectivity issues outside our control. Our total liability for any claim is limited to any entry fee you paid for the season in question.
Account suspension and termination
- •CPL may suspend or terminate your account or team's participation for violating these Terms, the Rulebook, or Discord's own rules.
- •Serious violations (cheating, harassment, match fixing) can result in immediate removal without prior warning.
- •You may stop using CPL services and leave the Discord server at any time.
- •Termination doesn't erase obligations that reasonably survive it, such as unresolved disputes or amounts owed.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in CPL's home jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
Changes to the terms
We may update these Terms as CPL's services or legal obligations evolve. Material changes come with an updated "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, a notice on Discord or the website. Continuing to use CPL after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
